Microchipping is the process of embedding a tiny identification microchip under a pet's skin, which can be scanned and read at shelter facilities to identify the pet's owner. Saturday microchip clinics are held once a month at the Animal Medical Center of Boone, 1582 Old 421 South, from 11:30 am until Noon. Full Story

Pinto Bean Supper at Bethelview

Parkway Team Places 3rd in State Odyssey of the Mind Competition

Parkway School’s seventh grade Odyssey of the Mind team took third place in the state in the middle school division of the Odyssey of the Mind tournament held in Asheville earlier this month.  Parkway’s team consists of Hannah Dallas, Max Schlenker, Shelby Reagan, Cole Funk, Mary Seramur, Alex Mancini, and Jonathan Gragg, and the team was coached by Parkway parent Lynn Schlenker. RAM Now Taking Applications for Summer 2011 Work Projects

(RAM) is now taking applications for Summer Mission work projects.  Each summer, RAM hosts church mission groups from the Southeastern United States.  These mission groups stay in Boone from three days to a week and assist RAM with work projects and campground ministries.
