A Crumpler teen lost her life in an early morning crash in Lansing, and the teen-aged driver was critically hurt. 16-year old Shana Marie Dishman was killed in the accident, according to Trooper McConnell of the NC State Patrol, who reported her as the passenger in the ’94 Toyota Corolla, driven by 19-year old Cody Collins of Mountain Shadow Road in Jefferson. Collins was rushed from the scene to a landing zone and airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where his condition was said to be critical. Trooper McConnell said that just after 6 this morning, Collins lost control of the Corolla in a curve on Deep Ford Road in Lansing, ran off of the road and struck a light pole. Shana Marie Dishman was dead at the scene. Ashe Paramedics, rescue, fire and first responders all worked to save Cody Collins’ life.
