The accolades just keep pouring in for the Avery High women's soccer team.

Head coach Tom Evaul was named the Western North Carolina Coach of the Year. He was also named the Class 1A, Region 10 Coach of the Year by the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association.
And rising senior Mary Chestnut Smith, who backboned the Vikings this season with 33 goals and 28 assists, was named to the All-Western North Carolina squad. The Western Highland 1A/2A Conference Female Player of the Year was also named to the all-region and all-state teams.
Smith is playing for the West all-stars at the North Carolina State Games at Queens University in Charlotte this weekend.
Kaley Faulkner, Megan Robbins, Katelynn Eudy, Melinda Eggers and Elyse Perry were named honorable mention All-WNC.
The Vikings, who were 20-2-2 this past season, lost to Southwest Onslow in the state finals.
