...FOUR LANES!
Construction workers removed barrels blocking the outer two lanes of US 321 south of Blowing Rock Saturday morning, clearing the way for free travel for all but 1.2 miles of the southern end of the construction zone. Paving was complete on the segment on the Blackberry Road end of the project late in the week, allowing for the opening of the four lanes. Some shoulder lines remained to be painted in the segment Saturday. Just when the most southern end of the project will be complete remains to be seen. Work on the segment from Blackberry to the northern end of Main Street in Blowing Rock is set for next year.
