Boone Condo Bid Rejected PDF Print

The bid for a Boone condo, owned by now convicted scam artist, has been rejected in Catawba County court.   The Hickory Daily Record reports that  the bid for J.V. Huffman Jr.'s Boone condo was rejected by Federal Judge Richard Voorhees as well as bids on two others properties. Voorhees rejected three of the bids because the property values exceeded the bids. However, the bids on five other Huffman properties, including the $350,000 offered for his main home, stood up to the judge's inspection.  The Boone condo is on Cecil Miller Road, and had a high bid at $164,000. Just what process will have to take place for liquidating these properties is not clear. Huffman, 46, pleaded guilty on Jan. 25 to 14 counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense and 14 counts of felony securities fraud.
