The Boone budget for 2010-2011—$22.3 million—is fully ‘on the table’ and ready for council action, that after the second part of a two-part council session that ended this morning.   The budget is a 14% increase over last year’s due to capital projects such as the renovation of the uptown Post Office, which the town now owns, lighting for King St., various street improvements and returning to the practice of adding to the capital outlay fund.  Town Manager Greg Young said that about $10,000 in expenditures were added during the final session, and there would be revenue adjustments before the final vote, which could come as soon as next Thursday.  The budget includes some water rate increases, but the overall tax rate remains the same for town taxpayers, as the budget stands.
