Boone Police were called to the aid of an injured man just after 6 Friday evening in what was first thought to be a traffic accident with a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.  video at:  http://www.youtube.com/user/GoBlueRidgeNews

When officers arrived at the scene, at Bamboo and 421, they found the victim in the road, but it was soon determined that he had been the victim of an assault, not a traffic accident. Watauga Medic treated the man for various injuries while police issued a bulletin for a van, reportedly with Tennessee tags, seeking suspects in the case.
