1272652441-glory-road.jpg12:26 p.m. - The NASCAR Hall of Fame will open tomorrow in Uptown Charlotte.

North Carolina is steeped in NASCAR history with the likes of Richard Petty, Junior Johnson, the late Dale Earnhardt and many more racing legends all calling the Tar Heel State home.

After quite a bit of debating, Charlotte won the bid to host the NASCAR Hall of Fame over Daytona, Florida several years ago.

The first five inductees into the NASCAR Hall of Fame are: Dale Earnhardt, Bill France, Bill France Jr., Richard Petty, and Wilkes’ own Junior Johnson.  Legends David Pearson, Cale Yarborough and Bobby Allison also received votes, but did not make the first cut.

A Junior Johnson Moonshine Still Exhibit will also be included as part of the Hall.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame will officially open at 10:00 tomorrow morning.
