The Watauga High women’s soccer team opens post-season play at home Tuesday night.
The WHS women (10-7 overall), the No.1 seed from the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference, will play Mooresville in the opening round of the Class 4A state playoffs. Mooresville (7-9-3) is a wildcard team from the I-Meck Conference. The game will be played at the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. Kick-off is set for 7 pm. The winner of this game will play either A.C. Reynolds (the No.2 seed from the Mountain Athletic 3A/4A Conference, or West Mecklinburg (the No.3 seed from the MEGA 7 3A/4A Conference) in a second-round game. If the Pioneers do advance, they would host that second-round match.
