7:03 a.m. - Boone Police arrested two Mountain City residents on drug charges after authorities reportedly found them in possession with chemicals that are commonly used to manufacture meth.

Sergeant Carson Puckett said 31-year-old Brad Lane Garland and 37-year-old Tammy Jerlene Lassiter each face one felony count of possession of chemical precursors to manufacture methamphetamine and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two were each given a $10,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on June 17.
