2:55 p.m. - Boone’s ReelHouse Cinema & Draft and the Watauga County Chapter of the American Red Cross have teamed up to put on a special fundraising event tonight.

ReelHouse’s director of entertainment and special events, Walt Reiss, said tonight’s “Watauga Helps its Own” event will feature a dinner theater-style presentation of live music, food and inspirational film shorts.

Red Cross officials said the High Country’s response to the disastrous earthquake in Haiti has drained some supplies and funding from the local chapter.  Money raised at tonight’s event will go to help the Watauga County Chapter of the Red Cross.

Watauga Helps its Own will run from 6:00 until 8:30 tonight at the ReelHouse Cinema on Boone Heights Drive.  Admission costs $10 and patrons will receive a separate dinner bill.
