1:00 p.m. - Watauga County Commissioners continued their discussions about building a recreation center at their regular meeting this morning.

Watauga County Parks and Recreation Director Stephen Poulos explained that commissioners approved a motion to have the builder look at constructing the facility on the current Watauga High School property.

The Board of Commissioners told the builder, PBC+L Architecture, that they would like the building to be built on or around where WHS’ softball field is located.

PBC+L will now take a more in-depth look at the property and see where would be the most feasible place to construct the facility.

Poulos explained, “They are going to look at the various options.  It’s just another step in the process.”
