Watauga High football coach Tim Pruitt has annunced that the Pioneers will be hosting the Shrine Bowl Combine Saturday at Jack Groce Stadium.
The cost for the tryouts is $20, and it is for rising seniors only. Kickers and punters will start workouts at 10 am, the rest of the players will start their workouts at 11 am. All players will be tested in the 40-yard dash, the verticle jump and the shuttle run. The North Carolina All-Star team will be officially announced this fall in October. The Shrine Bowl will be played at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC in December. WHS seniors Jordan Pineda, Robbie Sherrill, Caleb Watson, Mo Gore, Trey Cavanagh and Aaron Watson are among those that will participate at Saturday’s combine. The event is free and open to the public.
