Watuaga High football coach Tim Pruitt announced that another of his graduating seniors will take his game to the next level next fall.

WHS senior Travis Oliver has been accepted by Emory & Henry College, where he will play football next fall. Oliver got the word he was accepted around 5 pm Thursday night.
Oliver will make it official by signing his national letter of intent sometime next week, either Wednesday or Thursday, according to Pruitt. Emory & Henry College is a Division III school and a member of the Old Dominian Conference.
Oliver joins teammate and longtime friend Devan Corum at the collegiate level next season. Corum signed with Wingate University, a Division II school and a member of the South Atlantic Conference last week. Offensive lineman Mike Ferris, who transferred to WHS for his senior year in 2007 from the Charlotte area, is currently a sophomore at Emory & Henry.
Oliver, who had a so-so junior year, turned his game up a notch last season. He caught 33 passes for 726 yards and eight touchdowns. A big-play receiver for the Pioneers last fall, Oliver averaged 22-yard-per-reception.
The Pioneers, who were 6-6 last season, now have two of their graduating seniors playing at the college level next fall.
