The Appalachian State University Athletic Department has announced that the Mountaineers will play Marshall in the quarter-final round of the College Insider.Com Tournament.
The Apps (23-12 overall) defeated Harvard 93-71 Wednesday night in the opening round of the CIT. It was the first post-season win at the NCAA level in school history. And Donald Sims just keeps rolling along as the Appalachian junior poured in 22 points against the Crimson, giving him the school record of 702 points in a single season.
Marshall advanced with a first-round win against Western Carolina Tuesday night in Huntington, WV. The Thundering Herd was a member of the Southern Conference during ASU coach Buzz Peterson's first tour of duty with the Mountaineers.
