3:47 p.m. - Watauga High Athletic Director Tom Wright has announced that Friday's Northwestern 3A/4A opener between the Pioneers and South Caldwell down in Sawmills has been postponed due to weather.

The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 17. The Pioneers (3-2) play at North Davidson Saturday night. That will be a varsity-only game and it begins at 7 pm.
Our next broadcast of WHS baseball will be from Watauga High Field next Tuesday night as the Pioneers begin conference play against Hibriten. Our coverage begins at 6 pm on Oldies 100.7 FM.
NOTES: Also, tonight's men's lacrosse match between WHS and Hickory has been postponed. No make-up date has been announced. The men's team, due to weather-related issues, have yet to play a match this season. The women's team, which travels to North Mecklenburg next Saturday is 2-1.
