The Watauga High School Varsity softball team will hold a benefit spaghetti supper tomorrow that will benefit a Lenoir high schooler who was struck by a drunk driver.
Deputy Town of Boone Clerk, Kim Brown’s daughter plays softball at Watauga. Brown said proceeds will be donated to Ashlyn Pope, a senior and softball player from Hibriten High School. She and her father were involved in a wreck with a drunk driver last October. Pope took the majority of the impact and was pinned in the vehicle. Pope suffered severe multi-system trauma and broke her legs, arms, a vertebrae in her back, and her jaw.
