Weather researcher in Oklahoma looks to document snow on the ground in all 50 states at the same time.



Patrick Marsh, who works at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Severe Storms Laboratory in Oklahoma, is looking to document what could be a first in United States history.

Through various media reports Marsh is hoping to get the word out about getting photos from all 50 states, put them into a Google Earth map and make a snow snapshot of America.

Areas of the country that typically do not get snow are making this project a reality today as portions of the Florida Panhandle are projected to receive snow. Even some of the mountain tops of Hawaii have snow on them currently.
