Last week we reported that the Ashe County Sheriff’s Department is seeking information into the disappearance of 41-year-old Jimmy Lee Blevins. This week, the Allegheny County Dive Team, Ashe County Rescue Squad and Sheriff’s office conducted an underwater search in the New River.
According to the Jefferson Post, Sheriff Williams said they had indication from dogs used in the search that there might be a body in the river, however the search turned up nothing. Blevins was last seen the weekend of Feb. 24th. Soon after, officers found his house empty with lights and a cock pot on. Blevins is five feet nine inches tall and about 125 pounds with brown hair, green eyes and a distinct red mole above his left eye. If you have information, contact the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office at 336-219-2600.
