The Boone Police Department arrested a Maine native with two counts of financial transaction card theft and three counts of financial transaction card fraud.

Detective David Osborne said 29-year-old Shane Wesley Sapiel is believed to have stolen credit cards from a residence and then used them at various businesses in Boone.

Detective Osborne said Sapiel was already in custody at the Watauga County Detention Center from a January 26th arrest when he was charged with the credit card fraud charges on Thursday.
