Ready or not the first significant snow fall of the winter season is on the way.

Residents all across the southeast are gearing up for what could turn into a major snow event. The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Storm Warning from Friday morning through Saturday evening. The watch covers the areas from north of Roanoke, Va to east of Raleigh, NC to south of Spartenburg, SC to the eastern Tennessee counties that border North Carolina.

Some computer weather models are predicting double digit snow fall totals across the High Country by Saturday evening.

Blue Ridge Electric also reminds customers that in case of power outages you can report it via their 800 telephone number at 1-800-448-2383.
