DOT officials told High Country Radio Highway 321 south of Blowing Rock was reopened around 4:40 this afternoon.

As we reported yesterday, crews had to lay two layers of asphalt onto the roadway after clearing the rocks because the heavy boulders damaged the original roadway.

Frank Gioscio with the DOT said workers will not be blasting or closing the road until after the holidays.
