Dangerous Cold, High Winds, Power Outages PDF Print

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the overnight with wind chills below zero as temperatures drop into the teens.  Power outages were being reported just after dark by Blue Ridge Electric.

The wind advisory has sustained winds at 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts to 40. The combination will drop the wind chill to minus 2 at times in High Country locations.  With winter still not officially here, the forecast calls for very winter-like weather over the next several days, including sleet, rain, and snow Saturday night.  Stay tuned to High Country Radio stations and for news of consequences from the cold and windy weather, and pass along information, photos and video to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
