ISP and the Appalachian State University Sports Network has announced that the NCAA/FCS Playoffs Selection Show will air Sunday night on WATA 1450 AM from 7-9 pm.
The Mountaineers (8-2 overall; 7-0 Southern Conference) won their fifth-consecutive SoCon title by defeating Elon Saturday. The Apps have also nailed down an automatic berth in the national playoffs with that win. The top four teams will be seeded. As it stands now, Southern Illinois, Montana, Richmond and Villanova seem to be the top four seeds, which means the Apps will not be seeded unless one of those teams loses on Saturday. The official playoff pairings will be announced Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. The ASU football team will gather at Legends Sunday for the announcement. The doors open at 2:30 pm, and the Legend's staff will be collecting toys for Santa's toy box. ASU, which has won three national championships in the last four years, made it to the national quarterfinals last fall. The Mountaineers close out the regular season at home against Western Carolina Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium in their annual battle for the Old Mountain Jug. Our coverage begins at 1:30 pm on WATA 1450 AM.
