A 30-year-old Conover man faces murder charges.

Our news partner, Foothills Radio Group, reports Jorge Garcia is believed to have shot and killed a man in Hickory around 9:30 Sunday night.

Authorities found the victim at a residence on 5th Street NE in Hickory lying on his side with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim’s name has not been released and the case is still under investigation.
