The accolades just keep pouring in for Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards.

He was named the Southern Conference Player of the Month for October. Edwards averaged more than 400-yards a game, and he averaged nearly four touchdowns a game in October.

The end result, the Apps (6-2 overall; 5-0 conference play) are sitting in a first-place tie with Elon in the SoCon. Edwards, who exploded for 471 yards , scored four touchdowns and threw two touchdown passes against Furman last Saturday, was named The Sport Network National Offensive Player of the Week, the College Sporting News National Offensive Player of the Week, and the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

On the year, Edwards has thrown for 2,083 yards, ten touchdowns and only one interception. He's also rushed for 450 yards and 12 touchdowns. Edwards also became the first player in Division I to pass for 9,000 yards and rush for 4,000 yards in his career.

The Apps entertain Chattanooga Saturday. Our coverage begins at 1:30 pm on WATA 1450 AM.

NOTES: Former NFL General Manager Ron Wolf praised ASU on its prominent rise in college football, and spoke about Aramanti Edward's pro potential. Those remarks were made in the Asheville Citizen Times. Wolf worked in the NFL for 25 years, and he was general manager of the Green Bay Packers from 1992-2000.
