Congratulations to the Tri-County Twisters 16U Fast Pitch Softball Team on a winning season!
The Twisters finished the season with a 32-18 record, playing in 9
tournaments with second and third place finishes in several of the
tournaments. Playing in a showcase tournament in Salisbury, NC on
October 24-25, the Twisters finished with four wins and two losses.
The team dedicated their wins in the showcase to Ashlyn Pope, starting
pitcher for the Hibriten Lady Panthers, who was severely injured in a
head-on collision on October 22nd. The team included players from
Hibriten High School in Caldwell County as well as three Watauga High
Varsity players: Kelsey Rominger, Kara Tester, and Kayla Kincaid. The
team was coached by Rick Benfield of Lenoir.
