Beech Mountain Re-opens Terrain Park & Oz Run PDF Print

Beech Mountain Ski Resort will re-open the ‘Oz Run’ and a terrain park this winter.

The Oz Run got its nickname because of its proximity to the Land of Oz theme park.

According to Craig Distl, of Beech Mountain, the run was closed last year to upgrade the chairlift.  Distl said the new chairlift features padded quad chairs.

Ski Beech officials have also installed airless electrical snowmaking hookups along the run.

Distl said a new private locker room for season pass holders to store their skis and equipment will be opened this year.

Ski Beech is scheduled to kick off its 2009-2010 season on Saturday, November 21.
