Residents will soon be able to purchase a six-month adult pass for Grandfather Mountain for $25.
According to Landis Wofford, of Grandfather Mountain, the passes will go on sale on November 1 and will be good through April. The $25 unlimited six-month pass is cheaper than two adult day passes during peak season.
Wofford explained residents who visit the mountain during this “secret season” can enjoy a different view of the Blue Ridge’s vistas as the leaves have all fallen from the trees.
Residents will also be able to enjoy visiting the mountains without dealing with the larger summer crowds.
Children’s passes for the winter are $15, and a group pass, which is good for six people traveling in the same vehicle, sell for $65.
Winter hours at Grandfather are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. The park is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas days.
