Over 50 residents came out to the Boone Town Council Chambers Tuesday night to attend the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and the Boone Kiwanis Club’s Meet the Candidates Forum.

Candidates running for the Boone Mayoral seat as well as hopeful Boone Town Council members were in attendance to inform the public about their stands on several items of public interest.

Incumbent Boone Mayor Loretta Clawson is running for re-election against John Mena, and Tim Wilson.

Andy Ball, Rennie Brantz, Harold Frazier, Grant Holder, Jamie Leigh, Matthew Long, and Thomas Wilhite are all running for the three open seats on the Boone Town Council.

All candidates were in attendance at the meeting except Thomas Wilhite.
