Operation Medicine Cabinet is underway in Boone, as law enforcement and volunteers work to keep unused prescriptions out of circulation.

Boone Police set up their special operations trailer in front of the Food Lion on Blowing Rock Road, collecting prescription medicines that might otherwise end up flushed and in the downstream water supply or on the street. Volunteers worked to educate the public on the need to properly and legally dispose of prescription medicines.  Today's effort goes on most of the day in several locations.
