The Watauga High football team had a bye week, but the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference began league play Friday evening.

Avery 14, Black Mountain Owen 7:
Alex Villanueva capped off an 18 play, 89 yard drive with a four-yard touchdown run in the third quarter snapping a 7-7 tie. Villanueva scored both Avery touchdowns. Colton Blackburn ran for 148 yards. The Vikings are 3-2.
