The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office confirmed reports that an Appalachian State student passed away Monday afternoon.

Captain Dee Dee Rominger of the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office told High Country Radio the sheriff’s office is still investigating the death of Kenneth Damien Pearman.

Edward Sztukowski of The Appalachian, Appalachian State’s student-run newspaper, reports Pearman was a freshman law major at App State.

Pearman, of Kernersville, was reportedly found dead in his bed at his apartment on Bamboo Road Monday around 5:20 p.m.  Authorities haven’t said if drugs or alcohol are suspected to be involved in his passing.
