Boone’s local worldwide relief ministry, Wine to Water, will release its own wine label at an event tomorrow night.

Wine to Water’s vice president, Annie Clawson, told High Country Radio a 2006 red vine zinfandel and a 2008 chardonnay will be available to taste.

Clawson said one dollar from the sale of every bottle of wine will go toward Wine to Water’s projects around the world.  The organization works to dig wells for needy people around the globe who don’t have access to clean water.

Wine to Water’s label will soon be available at stores and restaurants around the Carolinas.

Clawson said the cocktail event will also feature hors d’oeuvres and will be held at the Crestwood Inn Friday evening from 7:00 – 10:00.

This event is free and open to the public.

As a quick follow-up, Clawson said Wine to Water’s president, Doc Hendley, arrived home from his missions trip to Peru on Monday and will be attending tomorrow’s event.
