The Appalachian State football team, coming off a bye week, has been ranked 10th in The Sports Network Poll for the second week in a row.

The Apps, suffering through their first 0-2 start since 2003, take on Samford (2-1) in the Southern Conference opener at Kidd Brewer Stadium Saturday at 3:30 pm. Our coverage begins at 1:30 pm on WATA 1450 AM.

The Apps are 29-8 in SoCon openers. Richmond is No.1 for the third week in a row. The Spiders (3-0) received 132 of 150 first-place votes. Villanova, Northern Iowa, Montana and William & Mary round out the top five.

James Madison is sixth, New Hampshire is seventh, followed by McNeese State and Southern Illinois and ASU to round out the top 10. Elon (2-1), which dropped a 35-7 decision at Wake Forest Saturday night falls from 11th to 13th in this week's poll. Wofford (1-2), a 44-14 loser at Wisconsin on Saturday, falls from 14 to 18th.
