High Country Young Professionals is a new group to the High Country, founded in 2009 by a group of young professionals in the area along with the support of the Boone Chamber of Commerce.

Each month local businesses support HCYP by hosting gatherings, called 5:01, for local young professionals to get together for business and social networking. The most recent gathering was hosted by Primo’s Italian Restaurant in the Boone Mall on September 17th and featured guest speaker, Jay Parr, creator of the Parr Barr/Boone Bar. The Parr Barr/Boone Bars are “High-Quality, Whole Food Bars for Sustained Energy in Work and Play”. Those in attendance were able to listen to Mr. Parr’s success story, enjoy some delicious appetizers provided by Primo’s and network while listening to the acoustic entertainment provided by Stephon LaMar.
