Internet bloggers were so impressed in Tom Miceli’s creation that he was featured in AutoBlog.
Domenick Yoney of AutoBlog reports Miceli earned a Bachelor’s Degree in industrial design at ASU.
The ION motorcycle was reportedly conceived, designed, modeled, and constructed in one semester using a minimal budget.
An 84-volt lithium battery powers the bike. It can reach a top speed of about 80 miles per hour and can run about 60 miles between recharging sessions. The battery can be recharged using a typical household plug in about six hours.
More pictures and a video about Miceli’s bike can be found at http://green.autoblog.com/2009/09/02/tom-micelis-ion-an-eye-catching-electric-motorcycle-indeed-w-v/.
