Former Appalachian State wide receiver/kick return specialist Dexter Jackson has been released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jackson, who was selected by the Bucs in the second round of the National Football League Draft in 2008. played in seven games last season. He returned 14 kick-offs for 327 yards (23.4 yard average) and 20 punts for 97 yards (4.9 yard average). He also had an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown against Houston in a pre-season game during his rookie year. Jackson hauled in 30 passes for 688 yards, and he scored nine touchdowns during his senior year at ASU.
