A landlord was jailed after a dispute over rent ended
in alleged theft.
Deputies were called to a Millers Creek home in Wilkes County
when Shelly Holliman and Richard Bryant returned home to find that their
landlord, Terry Wayne Jennings, had allegedly carted $1,000 worth of video games
and other assorted property, to the landfill. Other items missing include kids
clothes, a microwave and dishes. Altogether, the two claimed their property was
worth over $5,000. Jennings was charged with breaking and entering and theft
after deputies examined the rental agreement and found that Holliman and Bryant
had two days to pay their rent.
