The State Highway Patrol officially charged 23-year-old Tiffany Jade Vassello in the deadly hit-and-run that occurred on Highway 127 in Hickory two weeks ago.

According to our Foothills Bureau, Vassello was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run, misdemeanor death by vehicle, and failing to maintain lane control.

Investigators believe Vassello struck and killed 27-year-old Reynado Funez around 4:00 a.m. on July 27.
