According to Grandfather’s public relations’ director, Landis Wofford, the shade-grown beans are cultivated from plantations that conserve healthy ecosystems for humans and migratory birds. The coffee is also roasted by locally run Bald Guy Brew.
Wofford said Grandfather’s staff began getting involved in the North Carolina Bird Trail program recently and became educated about the impact coffee growers have on bird habitat. This revelation fueled the attraction’s desire to create it’s own bird-friendly house blend of coffee.
Grandfather Mountain Blend is also available by the pound at Grandfather’s gift shop and online at www.BaldGuyBrew.com.
