The Boone Police Department is investigating a vehicular break-in that occurred at an area apartment complex.

According to Sergeant Matt Stevens, a Toyota Corolla parked at an apartment at 199 Windy Drive was broken into sometime Monday night.

The victim walked to her car on Tuesday morning to find the center console left open and her iPod Nano with a mount and vehicle charger and a change purse with cash missing.  The victim said she thought she had locked her car the night before, but there was no sign of forced entry.

Sergeant Stevens said there is no rash of car break-ins in the area and said this was a stand-alone incident.

Anyone with information about this break-in should call High Country Crimestoppers’ Watauga County Office at (828) 268-6959.
