According to Linville Central Rescue Squad’s Derek Calloway, the 13 agencies currently searching for 16-year-old Nicholas Hicks at Elk River need supplies to keep them going.
Rescue workers are running out of food, water and ice and are looking to the community for support. The recovery effort is not easy, Calloway says. Currently every available rescue worker is at the base of the falls searching. The falls is command central, he says- and any donations community members could give to rescue workers to help them keep up their strength are appreciated.
Supplies can be brought to the Elk Park Fire Department during the day and Avery County Rescue Squad at night.
