Senator Kay Hagan was awarded the United State’s Senate Golden Gavel for completing 100 hours of presiding over the Senate.
According to Hagan’s office, the senator was given the award last week.
Hagan is the second senator this year to receive the Golden Gavel for presiding over the Senate for 100 hours.
This is Hagan’s first term as a United States Senator. She said presiding over the Senate has given her the opportunity to learn more about the Senate’s procedures and to learn more about her fellow senators.
