Senator Kay Hagan introduced a bill that is aimed at combating diabetes.

John Cornyn, a republican senator from Texas, also cosponsored the Catalyst to Better Diabetes Care Act.

One of the keys to Hagan’s legislation is to create a cross-agency outreach group to promote disease management.

Hagan said, “Diabetes has taken an enormous toll on our society’s health and economy, but in many cases the disease can be preventable.  The Catalyst to Better Diabetes Care Act will address some of the fundamental obstacles that prevent us from tackling this disease.”
