When you go to the grocery store, you expect to be able to sample fresh fruit, vegetables, maybe even a few deserts, but if a legislation that is currently being considered by state lawmakers passes, grocery shoppers will soon be able to sample beer and ale.

The Associated Press reports the Senate has approved the bill and the House may vote on it this week.  If the bill passes, tastings could start this fall.

Wine sampling has been allowed in North Carolina since 2001.
