The Watauga 13-14 year-old Junior League team is just one win away from the District 7 championship and a trip to Lewisville for the state tournament.

Watauga, which is 2-0 and has scored 37 runs during that stretch, will play either Wilkes American or Wilkes National Tuesday night at Optimist Park in Boone at 6 pm. Wilkes American advanced by beating West Caldwell 8-7 on Saturday in an elimination game. Wilkes American will now play Wilkes National at Optimist Park Monday night at 6 pm in an elimination game.

The winner gets Watauga Tuesday night. But whoever plays Watauga National must win twice to take the distrtict title. If Watauga loses Tuesday night, there would be a second and deciding game Wednesday at 6 pm at the Optimist Park. The state tournament begins Saturday, July 25.
