In addition to their Price Pals Week events, rangers at the Blue Ridge Parkway have several free events scheduled for this week.
Ranger Amy Renfranz said a wildflower walk will be held this evening at 5:30. This two-mile hike will take about an hour and a half and will begin at the front porch of the Cone Manor.
Saturday night, a local Scot bagpiper will play some Scottish tunes. Jamie Fish will perform and talk about the bagpipe, the Scot language, and a local Scot settlement during the 40-minute program that begins at 8:00.
Sunday evening at 6:00, rangers will lead a 2.3-mile-hike around Price Park Lake and discuss Julian Price’s impact on the High Country. This hike is expected to last about an hour.
As always, these events are free and open to the public.
