Weekend storms cause flooding PDF Print

More than two inches of rainfall fell in Watauga over the weekend, causing flooding.

Flooding in the Boone Mall parking lot came within five parking spaces of the mall’s entrance, forcing the closure of Panera Bread Company Sunday. Outages and flooding were reported throughout the county. Cove Creek and Zionville got hit the hardest in the storms, according to Paul Buchanan with Watauga Emergency Management. Fire departments with in those districts were busy all Sunday.
