Former Davidson College All-American Stephen Curry, who led the nation in scoring last season, scored 16 points for the Golden State Warriors in his professional debute on Friday in summer league play in Las Vegas, NV.

Curry was 4-14 from the field and 3-8 on three-point attempts. Curry, who was chosen by the Warriors with the seventh pick in the NBA draft on June 25, signed a four-year contract on Wednesday reportedly worth 12.7 million dollars, if the Warriors pick up the options on the final two years of the deal.

Curry, who also had four assists on Friday against the Houston Rockets, led the nation with in scoring with 28,6 points-per-game and was a concesus first-team All-America last season for the Wildcats. He led Davidson to the Final Four two years ago. But despite Curry's efforts, the Warriors lost to Houston 73-69 on Friday. The Warriors are scheduled to play Sacramento on Saturday.
